Optimum Threshold Parameter Estimation of Bidimensional Empirical Mode Decomposition Using Fisher Discriminant Analysis for Speckle Noise Reduction

چکیده
Now a days Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) is an important tool for image analyzing. Optimizing threshold value of Bidimensional Intrinsic Mode Function (BIMF) is one of the important tasks in speckle noise reduction in the Bidimensional Empirical Mode Decomposition (BEMD) domain. Without proper selection of threshold value image information may be lost, which is unwanted. In this paper we proposed optimum threshold parameter using Fisher Discriminant Analysis (FDA) for determining the optimum threshold value of the Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMF) for the best speckle noise reduction. In the mean time, we used the optimal threshold value for separating the higher frequency signal from BIMF to calculate the mean of these separated signals for alleviating speckle noise. It also preserves edges without loss of important image information. The method is compared with the several other classical thresholding methods on variety of images and the experimental results confirm significant improvement over existing methods.

متن کاملMultilevel bidimensional empirical mode decomposition: a new speckle reduction method in digital holography
The paper presents a new automatic technique for speckle reduction in the context of digital holography. Speckle noise is a superposition of unwanted spots over objects of interest, due to the behavior of a coherence source of radiation with the object surface characteristics. In the proposed denoising method, bidimensional empirical mode decomposition is used to decompose the image signal, whi...

In this study, a new speckle reduction method was proposed in terms of by Bidimensional Empirical Mode Decomposition (BEMD). In this method, the SAR image containing speckle noise was decomposed into a number of elementary components by using BEMD and then the extremal points are done the boundary equivalent extension after screening and the residual continue to be done the boundary equivalent ...

In the fault diagnosis of automaton, the vibration signal presents non-stationary and non-periodic, which make it difficult to extract the fault features. To solve this problem, an automaton fault diagnosis method based on morphological component analysis (MCA) and ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) was proposed. Based on the advantages of the morphological component analysis method i...
